Fancy Farms Takes Over AFF’s Instagram
12/14/2022
On December 8, the Alliance for Food and Farming (AFF) turned over its Instagram to Fancy Farms – a second generation strawberry operation in Plant City, Florida. Dustin and Alison Grooms and the Fancy Farms team provided an important glimpse into what life is like on their farm.
The Grooms generously took time to share everything from the planting process all the way to harvesting these berries that are available to consumers during the winter months. And then they took us to their popular Fancy Farms Market to show the luscious desserts, smoothies, shakes and fresh strawberries local Floridians enjoy during the harvest season making all of us envious and craving more berries.
Dustin and Alison’s photos and videos also showed the beauty of the strawberry fields, especially when they are laden with fruit. Seeing those strawberry fields reminds us how important the work of farmers and farm workers are as they nurture and harvest healthy, delicious and nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables.
We repeatedly and continually say that we wish we could give every consumer a personal farm tour because there is no better way to understand the passion, care and commitment to grow safe and healthy produce then meeting the farmers themselves. Our Instagram takeovers help us do that virtually and we thank Dustin, Alison and the Fancy Farms team for letting us see their farm and market and better understand their work.
If you missed the live takeover, you can still see all the Fancy Farms posts and videos at @safeproduce.
